The 3-day ACME Course is available to Fellows, Advanced Trainees in their final two years of training, and SMO/CMO/MOSS working in emergency departments.

In a warm and collegial environment, the ACME course aims to stimulate and provoke the experienced physician practising Emergency Medicine who wishes to be challenged by:
• Using simulation to improve the understanding of human factors and their impact on the
quality of team-based clinical care within the emergency medicine environment.
• Providing an update on key clinical skills, with core modules on
o Cardiovascular instability
o Airway and respiratory emergencies
o Complex emergencies
o Death and dying
o ED workplace well-being
o Optional modules: previous modules have been toxicology, obstetrics, and pre-hospital emergencies.
• There are many opportunities to participate in small and larger group discussions with peers
about important clinical and non-clinical topics: a feature that is perhaps unique to this
course.
• Updated course material
The course will be held at the Simulation Centre for Patient Safety, University of Auckland Grafton Campus, Bldg 502 Level B, 85 Park Road, Grafton, Auckland 1023.

Maximum participants: 12
The course can only be delivered on-site. Off-shore training enquiries are not accepted at this stage.
